Our story

Two friends, one shop, a lot of thread.

Threadify is a custom apparel shop based in Federal Way, Washington, built by longtime friends Justin Kaiponen & Alex Chan. What started as a love of making things turned into a full decoration studio — and you'll often find us set up at local markets, totes in hand, talking shop with customers.

We run everything ourselves, so the person who takes your order is the same person stitching it. That means honest advice on which method fits your project, careful attention on every piece, and a finished product we're proud to put our name on.

  • No minimums on DTF printing — order one shirt or one hundred.
  • You approve before we produce — clear pricing and timeline on every quote, no payment up front.
  • No hidden fees — what's on your quote is what you pay.
Good to know

Frequently asked questions.

The short version of everything customers ask us most. Something else on your mind? Just ask — we reply within one business day.

How fast will I get my order?
Most orders ship in 3–5 business days once your design and quote are approved. Working against a hard deadline? Tell us the date and we'll let you know up front if we can hit it.
Is there a minimum order?
No minimums on DTF printing — a single shirt is welcome. For embroidery, small runs are our bread and butter; tell us your quantity and we'll quote it straight.
What does digitizing cost, and when do I pay it?
New embroidery designs are digitized for a one-time $35 fee. Reordering with a design we've already digitized? The fee is waived — your stitch file stays on file for next time.
What file should I send for my logo?
If you already have a digitized embroidery file (.dst, .pes, .exp, .emb, .jef, .vp3) we can start right away. Otherwise a clean PNG or JPG works — vector files (SVG, AI, EPS, PDF) are even better. Embroidery designs should fit within a 4 in × 4 in area.
Which method is right for my project?
Rough guide: embroidery for polos, hats, jackets, and anything that should feel premium and last years; DTF for full-color artwork, photos, and small batches; patches when you want the design to move between garments; heat press for names and numbers. Not sure? Send us the design and we'll recommend the best fit — honest advice, even if it's the cheaper option.
Can I supply my own garments?
Yes — we decorate customer-supplied garments too. Because we can't replace items we didn't source, we'll ask you to okay a simple spoilage waiver first.
Do you offer local pickup?
Yes — we're in Federal Way, WA, and local pickup is free. We also ship anywhere in the US.
Do I pay anything before my quote is approved?
No. You build your order, we send a written quote with exact pricing and timing, and nothing is charged or produced until you approve it.
